They will no longer be the ones from 'Mi fist', like the title of the last album before the reunion, but Club Dogo are back and have no intention of abdicating.
On March 10th the Forum d'Assago was sold-out for the first live show of a long series that will lead them, after nine other indoor dates (all sold out), to close the circle at San Siro at the end of June.
A long residence in Milan, the city where it all began, and which Dogo themselves contributed to putting at the center of the Italian rap and hip-hop scene in the early 2000s.
The concert opens with a video, projected on the LEDs arranged on the stage to recall the shape of the Milan Cathedral: the Dogos enter a club for a robbery disguised as Craxi, Andreotti and Berlusconi.
On stage, next to them, pieces of the road that they have always told.
From benches to scooters to lifelong friends to spend the evening with.
In two hours of live performances, Dogo ranges through their entire repertoire, bringing to the stage many of the pieces from the latest album that bears their name, released this year just a few months after the announcement of the group's return.
"We sing a lot of new songs because they are rocking" comments Jake La Furia.
Dogo, even years later, seem to be born for this, just as one of their latest songs says.
Obviously, there was also no shortage of guests, such as Giuliano Palma for the timeless 'PES' of 2012, or Elodie for 'Soli a Milano'.
Also on stage were Vincenzo da via Anfossi and J-Ax, honored by Dogo: "If it hadn't been for him we wouldn't have been born".
The rest was done by living "music as a culture", hip-hop and rap as a lifestyle "that brought us this far".
And if the arena still fills up, years later, "then we feel rewarded because it means that we did the right thing. We lived to the full and inspired generations and we will continue to do so".
After all, they had already 'promised' it in 2017, when they sang: "When I return to you, I will return as a king".
The Dogo are back and have kept their word.
