Pompeii renews the tradition of large concerts at the amphitheater of the archaeological park of Pompeii, with a cycle of 10 performances which will be held between June and July.
"Today we celebrate the very happy marriage between the artistic and cultural heritage and one of our national excellences, which is bel canto recognized as such by UNESCO. Two elements that come together and combine together" also to "enhance our cultural heritage", said the Minister of Culture, Gennaro Sangiuliano, presenting the project in Rome, to the ministry.
The musical event is sponsored by the MiC and the Archaeological Park of Pompeii in collaboration with the Municipality of Pompeii, the organization of the Fast Forward and Blackstar companies and takes place in one of the most iconic places in the world, the Roman amphitheater of Pompeii, the gladiator arena in the antiquity and protagonist of the historic Pink Floyd concert in 1971, which consecrated his bond with the world of music.
The event will see Carmen Consoli (8 June), John Legend (11 June), Russell Crowe (9 July), Ludovico Einaudi (12 July), Il Volo (17 July), Biagio Antonacci (18-19-20 July), the Pooh (22 July) and Francesco De Gregori (26 July).
