What the rain left in the AMBA

The deluge that punished the City of Buenos Aires and a good part of the Buenos Aires suburbs since dawn kept areas flooded by water throughout the metropolitan region while the orange alert issued by the National Meteorological Service (SMN) was maintained.

The strong storm that started during the early morning intensified in the morning.

The City reported that, after 8 in the morning, more than 100 millimeters of rain had already been recorded.

Parque Avellaneda was the most affected neighborhood, with more than 60 millimeters in just one hour.

The large amount of water in such a short time caused flooding in the southern area of the AMBA.

In Mariano Acosta, in the Merlo game, a bus overturned and ended up on its side.

These scenes were repeated in different parts of the suburbs.

Many of the buses stopped traveling due to the amount of water and because residents blocked the streets to try to prevent the waves they caused when driving from increasing the flow of water entering their homes.

In Ramos Mejía, Rivadavia Avenue, from altitude 13,400, was completely flooded.

The buses cut off the service as they were unable to overcome the high water level in the street.

The first line to give notice of the suspension of the route was line 242, followed by line 96, which could not remain active even in its Semi-fast service, due to the flooding, even more severe, a block later, upon reaching the General Peace and cross to Liniers.

Storm in the Buenos Aires neighborhood of Barracas.

Also in Ramos, in Rivadavia at 14,000, cars were seen literally floating.

As explained by the National Meteorological Service (SMN) to Clarín, the western area was one of the hardest hit by the rains.

Morón and San Justo led the neighborhoods with the most rainfall.
