Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi said that restrictions imposed by Israel on the access of Muslim worshipers to Jerusalem's Al-Aqsa mosque compound during the Muslim fasting month were pushing the situation towards "an explosion".
Israel, he added according to what the international media report, "plays with fire".
Safadi added that his country, which controls the holy site, rejects the move announced by Israel to limit access during Ramadan, citing security needs with the war raging in Gaza.
