"We are still in the evaluation phase."
Thus, when asked by ANSA, the group leader of the League in the Senate Massimiliano Romeo answers the question whether the amendment to the elections decree on the third mandate of the governors will be re-presented tomorrow in the Chamber.
“At the last second you will know,” he added jokingly.
A hypothesis, the one put forward by the Northern League member, which however registered the immediate opposition of the Democratic Party with Romeo's counterpart, Francesco Boccia.
In the commission "the League maintained" the amendment "on the "third mandate of the governors of the Regions (on which the government deferred to the commission), making the split in the majority plastic", observed Boccia. Now "in the Chamber the amendment for the Regions will be maintained, while the one for the mayors will not be proposed again.
We reiterate our position already expressed in the commission".
The Dems, in the commission, had expressed themselves against the League's amendment. "As the Democratic Party we reiterate that we believe a general discussion on local authorities is necessary", Boccia pointed out.
