From the analysis of the documents acquired by the Milan Prosecutor's Office in the investigation into the sale of Milan from the Eliott fund to RedBird "the circumstance would appear to emerge that the majority of the capital used for the sale came from a corporate vehicle not referable" to RedBird itself.
This can be read in the search decree carried out today by the Special Currency Police Unit of the Gdf, on behalf of prosecutors Giovanna Cavalleri and Giovanni Polizzi.
Among the 4 under investigation are the CEO Giorgio Furlan and his predecessor.
From a series of elements acquired in the investigations of the Milan prosecutors Giovanni Polizzi and Giovanna Cavalleri, conducted by the Gdf's special currency police unit, emerges "the hypothesis that the Elliott Fund currently retains substantial control of the Ac Milan company, whereas the FIGC supervisory authority instead, the actual transfer of the property in favor of Gerry Cardinale's "Redbird Fund" in 2022 would have been represented. The prosecutors wrote this in the search decree against the four suspects, including the CEO Giorgio Furlani.
"With regard to the search that took place today in its headquarters, the AC Milan company is third and extraneous to the ongoing proceedings relating to its acquisition, completed in August 2022. The investigation - the Rossoneri club says - which also involves the legal representatives with signing power, Giorgio Furlani and Ivan Gazidis, current and previous CEO of the Club, hypothesize incorrect communications to the competent supervisory authority. The company is providing full collaboration with the investigating authority".
