From 2025, bills not collected within 5 years will be automatically cancelled.

And then: longer installment plans, from the current 72 up to a maximum of 120 monthly installments, to pay off debts with the tax authorities.

The compulsory collection reform is coming.

The Council of Ministers gave the green light at first reading to the draft legislative decree which modifies the rules by implementing the reform delegation.

Among the new features is also the arrival of a commission that will have to study how to dispose of and eliminate the enormous warehouse of uncollected tax bills and the possibility of the tax office sending requests for payments from multiple entities in a single tax code, unified by the tax code: in practice, not only the amounts of taxes to be paid but also those of traffic fines will be able to arrive together.

The Council of Ministers also definitively approved the delegated decree implementing the gaming reform.

Greater revenues from concessions and Lotto are expected - with a tender to start immediately and an auction starting point of one billion - but also a ban on the use of cash for online games
