"My daughter's situation has gradually become more and more a political process. Last February 28, the Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto effectively declared my daughter guilty, hoping for an exemplary punishment. All this in a state of law and in a member country , it is unacceptable."
This was underlined by Roberto Salis, the father of Ilaria, the young Italian woman detained in Hungary, in a press conference organized at the European Chamber in Strasbourg by MEPs Massimiliano Smeriglio (Avs) and Brando Benifei (Pd).
