Tom McRae, who recorded a splendid cover of

, has titled his new album
Strange Winter
.
The album, his tenth, highlights the links that have united him with our country since his beginnings in 2000.
“My first album went gold in France before the rest of the world
,” he remembers.
“It was incredible for me to find an audience in a foreign country with such non-commercial music.”
Over the years and his stays in Paris, the folk
songwriter
Tom McRae began to take an interest in French singers.
It was during Covid that it came in handy.
“My record company asked me to translate certain songs by Michel Polnareff.
While doing so, I said to myself: 'Why not write new songs and target them to local artists?'”
he explains, sitting in the Parisian apartment made available by his manager.
