During the 96th Academy Awards, held in Hollywood on March 10, Anya Taylor-Joy did not appear on the arm of her husband, singer Malcolm McRae.
This time, the 27-year-old actress chose to be accompanied by her father, Dennis Alan Taylor.
On her Instagram account, the Dior muse explained this choice: “At the age of 12, I promised my father that, if one day I was invited to the Oscars, I would take him.”
She also said she was “full of gratitude” for this moment which she described as “a dream come true”.

Born in Miami, Anya Taylor-Joy grew up in Buenos Aires, the capital of Argentina, before moving to London with her family at the age of six.
She is of particular Spanish and Argentinian ancestry through her parents.
