“I don’t know”, “I don’t know him”, “I’m not the one in charge”.
In front of the deputies of the National Assembly, Vincent Bolloré tried this Wednesday to distance himself from the activism that some attribute to him within Canal +.
Owned by Vivendi, of which the businessman is no longer officially a simple “advisor”, the audiovisual group was once again on the menu of discussions by the commission of inquiry into the allocation of television frequencies.
In focus: the possible renewal in 2025 of the authorizations to broadcast C8 and CNews, two channels regularly singled out by Arcom, the audiovisual regulator.
The result of “things blown out of proportion”, downplayed Vincent Bolloré, for whom “the Canal channels are scrutinized by lots of people who, for various reasons, do not want them to remain”.
Believing that a “file” has been “prepared for some time” on them, the billionaire from Ergué-Gabéric (Finistère) assured that these antennas respected the law and intended to continue to do so.
“We are legalists (…) Have no doubt that we will respect all of our obligations.
And if they change along the way, we will adapt,” he declared in particular, in reference to recent case law from the Council of State concerning CNews.
