John Cena stood almost naked on the Oscar stage.

Now Edeka is taking advantage of the wrestler's strange appearance with an original advertisement on Instagram.

Kassel – The Instagram followers of the supermarket chain Edeka may have rubbed their eyes in amazement on Monday (March 11th).

They suddenly saw an almost naked man on the Edeka account.

A pair of sandals on his feet and an envelope in front of his crotch - that's all the man in the post is wearing.

Right next to it, Edeka is showing several products from the supermarket.

What they have to do with the muscular man becomes clear relatively quickly.

Because of course the naked egg is not an unknown person, but wrestling and Hollywood star John Cena.

He caused one of the most bizarre moments at Oscar night on Sunday (March 10).

Unclothed – only with sandals and the said “fig leaf” – he walked up to the microphone to present the prize for the best costume.

"Costumes are very important," Cena joked during his appearance at this year's Oscars at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles.

Original Edeka advertising with a naked Hollywood star on Instagram is well received

The daring advertising idea was just as well received by the approximately 237,000 followers as the memorable Oscar appearance.

“I'm celebrating,” says one user and gets the most likes, 54 thumbs up.

“What a great campaign idea.

“Someone’s getting promoted,” the user speculates.

The services of a German celebrity at Edeka caused the internet to react viciously.

In fact, the supermarket chain also had something in mind with the advertising.

Next to the naked wrestler you can see the products you need for an Adonis body in the style of a Greek statue: low-fat quark, disposable razors for men and skin-tightening body lotion.

“Shop the Look!” is what Edeka appropriately writes about it.

“Buy the appearance!” is what the chain demands, becoming a little more specific below.

“It's so quick and easy to get the perfect stage outfit.

And what was your favorite outfit at the Oscars?” asks Edeka.

On the other hand, a code of conduct while shopping that was probably meant with a wink was less well received by Edeka customers.

Running gag about invisible John Cena - users joke on Edeka's Instagram account

Many Instagram users are excited.

“Quick and nice!

Chapeau,” praises one.

And while another says: “Marketing has been played through”, another user announces that he will now stop by the branch: “Finally, good advertising!

I'm going to buy low-fat quark right away, you deserve it!” It is often emphasized that the company has shown some courage with the campaign.

“Creative agency and a client who dares.

Great combo!” says one comment.

And of course the running joke about John Cena is also discussed on the Internet.

Typically, the wrestler in the ring says: “You can't see me”. With the saying and a corresponding hand signal, Cena wants to say that he is too fast for his opponent.

The enemy cannot see him.

This has now become a “meme” online.

This means that when looking at photos of Cena, Internet users act as if they actually couldn't see him.

Instagram users also follow this.

“I just see a sign???

#youcantseeme," one person said in amazement, and another also wrote in surprise: "I only see a microphone stand." That might be in the supermarket chain's interest, because above all, customers shouldn't focus on the wrestler, but rather pay attention to something else: the products.
