"We have learned that during the discussion on the conversion into law of the elections decree, an amendment was presented which, if approved, would cancel the ballots for the election of mayors in municipalities with over 15 thousand inhabitants in the event of a quorum of 40% being achieved by one or more candidates. We do not believe that an overturning of the law on the direct election of mayors can be hypothesized without consulting the municipalities, as has instead happened with other provisions in the logic of loyal collaboration between institutions".
This was stated by the president of ANCI Antonio Decaro.
