after touching the refrigerator in his house, which had the floors covered in water.

This morning, in Valentín Alsina, Lanús, another 14-year-old was electrocuted and was hospitalized.

The episode occurred in a home in the “El Peligro” neighborhood, on the west side of the La Plata district and 25 kilometers from the city center.

There the boy was affected by a severe voltage shock and was left lying with burns and the consequences of the shock.

The family took the child to a first aid room located a few blocks from the scene.

SAME doctors were summoned there, who confirmed the injuries and performed resuscitation maneuvers.

He was then rushed to the San Roque de Gonnet hospital where he was admitted to the intensive care unit.

This Wednesday at dusk, the professionals who care for him asked for a place at the “Sor María Ludovica” Children's Hospital to continue treatment.

Health sources said that his state of health was “reserved.”

Personnel from the volunteer firefighters from “El Pato” also intervened, a town in Berazategui, which is a few minutes from “El Peligro”, also on the side of Highway 2. The agents were in charge of protecting the safety of the rest of the members of the boy's family and interrupting the electrical service at the home.

The untimely rains recorded in the last 48 hours in the AMBA area had already led to an electrocution accident.

Storm in La Plata: almost 200 millimeters fell in 48 hours

In La Plata, the almost

200 millimeters of rain

that fell in just under 48 hours caused flooding, water entering hundreds of houses, streets being closed, and the partial interruption of classes in about 20 public and private schools.

In the capital region area, the storm had its maximum intensity in the early hours of this Wednesday.

However, until after noon, the municipality of La Plata reported that there were no evacuees among the population of the most affected locations.

According to experts, in just two days it rained 65% more than the expected average for the entire month of March and this led to problems in urban sectors and especially in marginal areas.

In Berisso and Ensenada (districts neighboring La Plata and located on the banks of the La Plata River) there was also damage.

However, the authorities of those municipalities reported that the situation normalized as the afternoon wore on.

And there were no victims among the neighbors.

Los Hornos (where more than 120 thousand people live) and Altos de San Lorenzo (a neglected region of a peripheral sector) are the towns that registered water in homes and streets overflowing with water.

"The streams have normal drainage and the delegations maintain active guards," explained the municipal authorities.

The greatest complications were seen in the early hours of the day when the intensity of the rain generated various inconveniences in traffic.

The La Plata School Council said that 20 educational buildings in the city were in the "emergency" category and that is why they had to suspend their activities.

Some did it on Tuesday during the late shift.

Others suspended him on Wednesday in the first shift.
