Soft potato dumplings paired with crunchy broccoli in a creamy cream cheese sauce are cooked quickly and taste simply delicious.
After the hearty casseroles and stews, as well as rich cream sauces in autumn and winter, lighter dishes are now more popular again on mild spring days.
Whether for pasta or potato dishes, wonderfully creamy sauces can be conjured up even without cream.
This is proven, among other things, by the light spring pasta with broccoli and chicken.
Italian classic: gnocchi in all colors and shapes
Gnocchi – the soft potato dumplings are part of the traditional cuisine in Italy alongside pizza and pasta.
However, you don't have to travel long for fresh gnocchi, because the delicious potato dumplings can be easily cooked at home with just four ingredients.
The creamy gnocchi and broccoli pan can be topped with a little grated Parmesan or toasted pine nuts if desired.

However, if you want to make it particularly quickly, the ready-made gnocchi from the fresh food counter in the supermarket also offers a good basis for all gnocchi variations.
Whether in the form of a green gnocchi-zucchini pan with homemade basil pesto or as a creamy one-pot dish with tomato and mozzarella - the tender potato dumplings are a delicious alternative to the ever-popular pasta.
Ingredients for the creamy gnocchi and broccoli pan
For about two servings of gnocchi you will need:
500 g gnocchi (from the fresh food counter)
500g broccoli
2 cloves of garlic
75g cream cheese

That's how quickly you can prepare the green gnocchi pan
First, bring some salted water to the boil.
Meanwhile, the broccoli is washed thoroughly and divided into small florets.
Cut the stalk into pieces about 2 x 3 centimeters in size.
Add the diced broccoli stalk to the boiling water for about two minutes before adding the florets and cooking for a few minutes until al dente.
When draining the broccoli, collect about 50 milliliters of salt water.
In the next step, the garlic is peeled and finely diced.
Meanwhile, mix the cream cheese with the broccoli water and season with salt and pepper.
You can also season the sauce with dried herbs, chili flakes or a little nutmeg.
Heat olive oil in a large pan and fry your gnocchi in it.
Then, over reduced heat, add the garlic and pour the mixed cream cheese sauce over everything.
Finally, fold in the broccoli and mix everything together well.
Bon appetit!
Tip: Topped with a little grated Parmesan and served with a large salad, the gnocchi pan tastes particularly delicious.
