Amazon customers can carefully consider whether they want to keep their order.
Soon no longer.
The online giant is shortening return times for some products.
Munich – Many people like to do their shopping online for convenience and to save time.
Amazon is the preferred place to shop.
According to the digital portal Online-Marketing.de,
this emerged
from the representative survey results of the Amazon Shopper Report 2022 by
Remazing
and
Appinio
.
Unfortunately, cases of fraud are often lurking in online trading.
Last month there were warnings about a new online rip-off on Amazon and Ebay.
60 percent of German respondents said they buy (almost) everything from the shopping giant.
Above all, the variety of products and fast delivery times would be convincing.
However, all of the Amazon televisions tested at Stiftung Warentest recently disappointed.
Amazon shortens the return period: soon there will only be a period of 14 days
But now the online giant is about to make a change that is unlikely to make many Amazon customers happy.
According to information from
Spiegel
, Amazon will be changing its return policies for numerous electronic devices and office supplies from April 25th.
This change emerged from a notice communicated to Marketplace sellers, according to the news magazine.
Only recently, the innovation that an ad-free Prime subscription is only possible for an additional charge caused a lot of dissatisfaction.
Likewise the restriction on the use of voucher cards.

Accordingly, Amazon customers will have to decide much more quickly in the future whether they want to keep their purchase.
Because instead of a return period of 30 days, only 14 days are granted on the above date.
“Halving the return period is a drastic cut by Amazon,” says IT lawyer Alexander Bräuer in an interview with
Spiegel
.
With the shortened deadline, the online giant apparently wants to curb the horrendous return costs.
Because “the longer the right of withdrawal applies, the higher the return rate may be,” Bräuer continues.
Shortened return period on Amazon – these products are affected
According to the legal portal juraforum.de,
the legally required minimum for online trading is
14 days.
In stationary retail, however, neither a right of exchange nor a right of return has to be granted.
It is a voluntary service by the retailer.
These products are affected by the shortened return period:
Cameras
routers
PCs
Video games as well as Blu-Ray films and music CDs

Change in return policy at Amazon – other electronics retailers could follow suit
According to the Amazon spokesman, devices such as televisions, streaming boxes and tablets from the company's own Fire series are exempt from the cut.
The old deadline of 30 days also still applies to completely renewed electronics from the “Renewed” range.
As the online magazine
Golem.de
reports, other electrical retailers such as Alternate or Cyberport as well as discounters such as Aldi and Lidl continue to offer a return period of 30 days.
It remains to be seen whether they will also follow suit with the Amazon change.
Meanwhile, many customers are hoping for the popular Amazon Spring Day deals.
