Grandma's large recipe collection contains many treasures.
The successful and simple nut cake is also a must on any coffee table.
There are cakes that take you straight back to childhood.
On a cozy Sunday afternoon you are sitting in your grandparents' living room, the table is already set and the cake forks are ready.
As soon as grandma cuts the cake, which everyone is already looking at longingly, the coffee break with loved ones can begin.
With a lot of love she went through her tried and tested baking recipes again and baked one of her classics: a wonderfully moist nut cake.

Grandma's recipe is still well received today, after all, quick-made sponge cakes like the version with nuts or the fruity applesauce cake taste as good as they once did.
The nut cake gets its fine nutty note, which of course shouldn't be missing, thanks to ground hazelnuts. In the oven it then becomes airy and fluffy.
When the oven door opens and the smell of cake flows through the apartment, you hold a small but beautiful piece of childhood in your hands that you are only too happy to share with family and friends.
Even beginners can make sponge cakes, and grandma's nut cake is no exception.

For grandma's nut cake you need the following ingredients:
200 g butter, soft
200g sugar
4 eggs
200 g ground hazelnuts
325g flour
1 packet of baking powder
75 ml milk
In just a few steps you can make a classic nut cake based on grandma's recipe:
Preheat the oven to 180 °C top/bottom heat.
Briefly beat soft butter, sugar and eggs with the beaters of a hand mixer until creamy.
Mix the hazelnuts, flour and baking powder and fold into the dough.
Stir in milk until a smooth dough forms.
Pour the dough into a greased Bundt cake tin and bake the nut cake in a hot oven for about 50 minutes.

If you want to refine the nut cake even further, you can adapt it to suit the tastes of young and old.
For example, children are happy about some chocolate, which is added as a glaze over the bundt cake or chopped into pieces directly into the dough.
If only adults are eating, half of the milk can be replaced with rum.
The empty cake plate shows once again that it is the simple and uncomplicated cakes, all of which are written down in grandma's baking book, that make you happiest.
