A regulatory intervention such as the one that the Government requests with this bill is "crucial" on a subject, cybersecurity, whose "state of the art is worrying: in 2023 the National Cybersecurity Agency dealt with 1,411 events with impacts on national subjects, approximately 117 per month, with a notable increase compared to 2022".
Undersecretary Alfredo Mantovano said this to the joint Constitutional Affairs-Justice commissions of the Chamber, which began the examination of the bill on strengthening national cybersecurity.
In Ddos (Denial of service) attacks, he added, "pro-Russian and pro-Palestinian groups are particularly active in conjunction with measures and decisions taken by the Italian authorities".
