Syrian refugees transform the reception area of a hotel in Ireland/photo: Tiktok
A video of asylum seekers destroying the reception desk at a hotel in southern Ireland has been uploaded online.
The footage posted on TikTok shows chaotic scenes at the Clonea Strand Hotel in County Waterford, after rioters overturned furniture in the reception area and cutlery trays were thrown onto the dining room floor.
Also seen in the video are upset children crying, while men argue with each other and women scream. However, It is not known what caused the problem, but Tiktok said it was an argument about the food served to the refugees.

The 120-room hotel is located in an extremely remote area of Waterford and overlooks Cluny Beach, about five kilometers from the shops and commercial center of the town of Dungarvan.
The hotel received the first group of Syrian families from Lebanon in 2015. More than 540 refugees, including 90 children under the age of five, have since arrived at the hotel. In addition to a kindergarten, the hotel provides school lessons for children.
Ireland operates a number of reception centers around the country to house asylum seekers while their claims are processed. The centers help immigrants acclimatize while their eligibility for state services, such as health and social welfare, is assessed.
