"The war in Ukraine was a wake-up call, we must never again depend on others for our energy and security. Strengthening our defense and strengthening our borders are fundamental pillars."
Finnish Prime Minister Petteri Orpo said this at the EP plenary session.
"Moscow is pushing citizens of third countries onto our eastern borders, the numbers are still low but the phenomenon is worrying. We must safeguard the external borders from any hybrid attack. We have closed our eastern border and are preparing ad hoc rules, we do it to defend the entire EU".
