Vladimir Putin intends to deploy his troops along the border with Finland: the Russian president himself said this in an interview with state TV and the Ria Novosti news agency.
The Russian leader criticized the accession of Finland and Sweden to NATO, stating that "this (was) an absolutely meaningless step (for Finland and Sweden) from the point of view of protecting their national interests".
And he added: "We didn't have troops there (on the Finnish border), now they will be there. There were no destruction systems there, now they will appear."
