"A public health system that provides care regardless of how much money you have in your pocket is beautiful, a public school that provides quality education is beautiful."
Thus the secretary of the Democratic Party Elly Schlein commented - during a press conference in Montecitorio - the words of Prime Minister Meloni, who had stated that she would never define taxes as "beautiful".
"The government is busy - continued Schlein - inventing slogans every day, but the cuts to healthcare and welfare that the government makes are horrendous and which increase inequalities, while I see that they are shy about extra-profits": they "deleted the tweet" added referring to a post by Meloni in which he claimed the tax on extra profits of banks which was later repealed.
"They are going ahead with cuts to healthcare - she concluded - but they will have to answer for the fact that the waiting lists are getting longer and longer, that to have a gastroscopy the wait is a year and a half".
