Jerusalem Boulevard in Ramat Gan is the Champs Elysées of Gush Dan.
The endless space, the green trees, a foreign atmosphere, a French fragrance spreading everywhere... well, it's time to stop suppressing it. These are two old rows of buildings that surround a crushed and potholed road and represent the crowded atmosphere of the eastern part of the city on the border of Givatayim.

several years ago, two interrelated positive processes began at the same time. One is small and limited editions of TAMA projects that have grown growers and slightly renewed the area, and the other is a culinary incubator.
Golda arrived, also Papa John's, a falafel dish and another dish, the wonderful Chapo Burger at Uziel's corner and more.
Only one thing was missing - shawarma.
Any self-respecting urban area knows that the popular fast food must be part of the landscape, available to the general public.
For years, Sami and his sons' skewering dominated Ben-Gurion, but in today's terms it is considered far away.
People demand here and now, want to get down on a meal in flip flops.
Loaded with everything.

Shawarma Mesod Ha'ir has been part of the landscape of the Yishuv village (beginning of Bialik Street) for 15 years.
About a year ago it was closed and a few months later, just before the holidays, it opened on Jerusalem Boulevard with a renewed branding - Dudala.
This time, in addition to the turkey, there is also a veal shank, a selection of skewers, and as in the old place - on Friday, a celebration of homemade food takes place here.
Actually, and don't tell anyone, that was the bait.
On Friday I passed there and saw swarms of people buying all sorts of things - meatballs, cooked vegetables and a selection that looked meticulous and sweet.
The place is new, clean and decorated.

We went in and ordered.
She took turkey in pita (NIS 47) and I, according to tradition, veal in pita (NIS 47) and another half portion of turkey (NIS 30).
Time to taste.

So like this: this is not the calf shawarma you would dream of.
It is not mellow enough and its taste is not dominant.
In fact, the turkey dish is much better, and wherever the turkey surpasses the veal there is a taste for fault.
However, the pita is dreamy.
Every bite of it feels like floating on a cloud, and its softness also enhances the meat.
Such a combination between size, airiness and stability - the pita does not fall apart - is hard to find.
Oh, and the diligent guy at the counter also put us a huge side of chips, which actually makes an expensive dish extra worth it.
So how did it come out?
Veterans of the section surely remember the KMA index (quantity-price-quality, from 1 to 10), but the index sometimes includes marginal parameters, scientific of course and approved by the FDA, which affect the score. In terms of
taste, as mentioned, it is difficult to say that I was enthusiastic about the veal. The turkey was actually quite good, the pita was perfect, so all these alone put the score at 7, but there are other factors that should be taken into account.
The dish, and especially the side dish, are large. The place is clean and tidy, and we felt that the price was fair in relation to what we received and we saw a selection that would make For us to return. To this must be added the home food option which is a potential upgrade. All these give the place the score 8.
A selection that will keep us coming back.

In the end, as Mark Twain famously said, all a person needs at the end of a working day is a decent shawarma dish.
Dudala's may not be among the top shawarmas in the city, but it is certainly not embarrassing and does the job.
