Two Israelis were moderately injured in a knife attack near a checkpoint on Route 60 south of Jerusalem.
The army announced this according to which the security forces opened fire on the attacker who was "neutralised".
Four Palestinians were shot dead last night by Israeli security forces in al-Jib, north of Jerusalem, and in Jenin, in the north of the West Bank.
The news, reported by the Palestinian news agency Wafa, was confirmed by military radio according to which the two Palestinians killed in al-Jib were engaged in throwing incendiary bottles at Israeli motorists.
Yesterday in the Shuafat refugee camp, a Palestinian boy was shot to death in an anti-Israel demonstration organized for Ramadan.
According to the broadcaster, the young man had fired a firework at the officers, "putting them in danger".
Police reinforcements have been sent to Jerusalem.
The two dead in Jenin were hit by the army during a military operation which also left 4 injured.
This was reported by local medical sources, cited by the Wafa agency.
According to Wafa's reconstruction "the soldiers opened fire on a group of people who were outside the local hospital".
The Israeli army has not yet commented on the episode.
