Whether in a pot or bed: If you plant the daisy-beauty, also known as Bellis, in the right place and treat it with care, you can extend the flowering of the plant.
Like hyacinths, daffodils or primroses, the daisy is one of the classic spring bloomers.
In contrast to its robust white relative from the meadow, the daisy (Bellis perennis), the larger, modern cultivated forms attract attention with their eye-catching, often double flower balls.
In pink, white, red or soft pink, they are visible from afar from March.
Strictly speaking, the colored petals are only false flowers, as only the yellow flower at its core deserves this botanical name.
The cultivated sweetheart is a little more sensitive than the natural form.
But if you do it cleverly, it will bloom well into the summer.
Extend the flowering period of the daisy-beauty with the right care
The daisy is a cultivated form of the daisy.

The normal flowering period of the mostly biennial Bellis hybrids lasts from March to May or June, whereas the wild daisy can last until November.
The flowering of the cultivated form can be extended with two measures: Firstly, the right location is important, namely a sunny spot.
They also thrive in partial shade, but bloom less and are often not as intensely colored.
On the other hand, you should cut off spent heads that would otherwise produce seeds.
This encourages the plant to produce plenty of flowers.

Otherwise the thousand beauty is quite undemanding to care for, especially in the bed.
You should keep an eye on the soil in the pot: While the plant only needs water about twice a week outdoors, this can be the case more often in the pot - after all, there is less space available for the roots.
A drainage layer is also important here so that the water does not build up.
In the bed you can usually do without fertilizing; in the pot it makes sense to use liquid fertilizer about every three weeks.
