A space dedicated to the recovery of children with serious disabilities or suffering from oncological pathologies.
An environment designed to make the child relax as much as possible and stimulate his senses with multimodal solutions, controlled and personalized through the use of sensorized objects, projection systems, light beams and amplifiers.
It is the multisensory room inaugurated today in the pediatric clinic, directed by Paola Cogo, of the Santa Maria della Misericordia hospital in Udine.
The environment, as a note from the Region explains, translates into an immersive, soundproofed space, equipped with technological tools capable of reproducing different types of stimuli to promote the rehabilitation of patients in developmental age.
It is the "third room in Italy after Florence and Milan", explained the regional health councilor, Riccardo Riccardi.
"It is a result of the central Friuli university health authority, of the Region which financed the project with 60 thousand euros";
it is a result that "must be expressed in current affairs to respond to the challenges we face and to health needs that have changed over time, health needs conditioned by the characteristics of today's profoundly changed society, but also by the evolution of research and technologies. I citizens can take advantage of these opportunities if we concentrate services and provide quality responses as on this occasion".
