2024 is definitely the year of Meghan Markle's big return to the public stage.

The Duchess of Sussex launched, this Thursday, March 14, a new website and an associated Instagram account entitled American Riviera Orchard, in French “the orchard of the American Riviera”.

For the moment, the Instagram account only presents the name of his new company, under which it is written Montecito, but the story presents a short video.

In a vintage style, to the notes of

I wish you love

by Nancy Wilson, we see Prince Harry's wife sometimes arranging flowers in a vase, sometimes cooking.

At the end, we can see her from afar, in a doorway, in what appears to be a large ball gown.

The Instagram page bio simply states: “By Meghan, Duchess of Sussex.

Founded in 2024” and links to the eponymous website.

There, no more information other than the possibility of entering your email address to join a waiting list in order to stay informed of “products, availability and updates”.

Lifestyle according to Meghan

So we know little, but by digging a little, here are the clues we have.

Based on what the waitlist indicates, American Riviera Orchard appears to be a lifestyle brand.

Additionally, according to US magazine

People

, a trademark application, currently under review, reveals that American Riviera Orchard plans to sell tableware, beverages, including carafes, kitchen linens and edible products such as jellies, jams, marmalade and spreads.

The trademark application would also seek authorization to sell cookbooks.

The name of this new project is full of references to the life of Meghan Markle.

“American Riviera” is the nickname given to the city of Santa Barbara, California, where the Duchess lives with her husband and their two children, Prince Archie, 4, and Princess Lilibet, 2.

“Orchard” meaning “orchard”, this could be a reference to the culinary theme which seems to predominate in this new project.

As for the name Montecito which appears on the logo, it is the neighborhood where Meghan and her family reside.

It would not be the first time that the duchess has embarked on a lifestyle project and more particularly around food.

In 2014, she launched her blog,

The Tig

, where she shared her favorite culinary and travel discoveries as well as her personal reflections.

She closed it in 2017 after her royal engagement as well as her personal Instagram account.

Meghan's return to the networks

This new project comes as a surprise, not to mention that Meghan Markle recently declared that she still enjoyed staying away from social networks.

Last week, during a panel discussion at the SXSW conference in Austin, Texas, she said she was staying "away" from social media "for now, just for (her) own good." -be".

Since closing her personal Instagram account, the Duchess of Sussex has only had shared accounts.

First with her husband, Kate and William, under the name Kensington Royal, before going separate ways under the Sussex Royal account, the last publication of which dates from 2020.

In February, the Sussexes quietly launched a new website, Sussex.com.

The web address includes the latest news on the couple, their respective biographies as well as links to their organization Archewell Foundation and Archewell Productions hub.

At the same time, Meghan also announced the launch of her new podcast channel.

What else can they be up to?
