Old partners leave and new ones come.
A lot will change at Payback in 2025.
And this is to the delight of users of the bonus program.
Munich – Shop, collect points, benefit: the principle of Payback is simple.
And it will be even more advantageous for customers in 2025.
Then a change is imminent.
The company is going separate ways with some partners, but is also signing contracts with new ones.
In short: the number of users should expand.
The focus is particularly on the savings banks, which are vying for Gen Z customers with a new branch.
Not only are they new partners of Payback, but they also bring a number of other companies with them.

Savings banks join Payback – customers can store their checking cards in the app
“The savings banks have over 9,000 companies in their own loyalty system and bring them into the Payback program,” said Managing Director Bernhard Brugger.
For customers this means: They could then collect points at many retail points of sale.
The process is uncomplicated: The Payback bonus points are credited when paying cashless with the debit card.
This bundles many services for customers.
They could also “store the card in the Payback app for payment,” he explained.
In addition, the company wants to focus on various financial products for which there should also be discount points.
The savings banks alone have over 40 million checking cards in circulation.
That’s quite a pound we’re gaining at this point.”

“Opportunities on top”: Edeka, Netto and Marktkauf are also Payback partners
However, the savings banks are not the only newcomers.
The Edeka Group's entry into Payback, including net and market purchase, has been certain since 2023.
For customers, this means one thing overall: “Lots of size and options on top”.

The extensions of some partner contracts seem to be just as important to Brugger.
For example from the organic supermarket chain Alnatura or from dm.
Other companies, however, prefer to score points with their own “loyalty” programs.
In January it became public that Rewe was ending its collaboration with Payback.
