The date is set: the funeral of SamanAbbas, the young woman of Pakistani origins killed by her family in May 2021 for opposing a forced marriage, will be celebrated on Tuesday 26 March in Novellara.
This is announced by the Municipality of Novellara, which will proclaim city mourning for that day: a minute's silence will be observed in the schools and the flags on public buildings will be displayed at half-mast.
"To respect her request and above all to protect her brother Ali Heider, the short ceremony, which will take place in the Novellara cemetery, will be strictly confidential as already announced", says the mayor Elena Carletti.
