The "amnesty for political, institutional and social normalization in Catalonia" law was approved today by the lower house of the Spanish Parliament in the second debate on the amended text with 178 votes in favor and 172 against.
The PSOE, promoter of the law, voted in favour, as did the parties that support the government majority, including Sumar, the Basque nationalists of PNV and BILDU, the Catalan nationalists of ERC and Junts per Catalunya.

The amnesty for the independentists implicated in the trials for the 2017 secessionist season in Catalonia will now be examined by the Senate.
