A Cat on a Hot Tin Roof
“Constance aux enfers” at 9:10 p.m., on France 3.
A building under construction in the heatwave.
A shirtless Polish worker climbs the scaffolding and sneaks up to Constance's window (Miou-Miou), who offers him applesauce — the forbidden fruit — and cold water.
More reserved than her best friend, who recounts on video her one-night dates with men she met on the Internet, the lady lives alone and runs an antiques shop on the ground floor.
She sells a jumble of original books, “Titanic” tableware and Japanese erotic sculptures.
At a young neighbor's birthday, Constance fantasizes about Amine, a VTC driver and lingerie model.
One evening, the handsome stallion shows up at the old girl's house, blood on his shirt.
He tells her that his girlfriend has gone crazy with jealousy.
An argument broke out and he pushed her down the stairs.
The young woman died in this fall.
Amine already has a record, he is afraid of diving for good.
A little disoriented, the antique dealer lends his courier.
But someone saw them and blackmailed this unusual couple.
Could it be Louis, this intrusive former neighbor, lover of thrillers, tending to collaborate?
For Constance, hell begins.
She, whose life was humming along - like Mister Pussy, the cat with whom she shares her apartment - sees herself embarked on a funny adventure, full of twists and turns.
The staging is outdated, but it works.
Notably thanks to Miou-Miou, disarming in this role of old maid who has not said her last word.
