The French who are looking to invest their savings in “green” savings products, but who until now have not found the right fit, can rejoice.
Their money will finally be better spent.
Indeed, the ISR label, the main reference in responsible financial investments with around 1,200 funds, is getting a makeover.
The general idea?
Remove the most polluting companies from the portfolio and put an end to greenwashing.
So-called “sustainable” funds are in fact regularly accused of not keeping all their promises, or even of deceiving clients, as recalled by a study by UFC Que Choisir in 2023.
The new rules of the game reshuffle the cards.
Management companies wishing to obtain this precious sesame will, for example, now have to exclude companies in the fossil fuel sector - coal, hydrocarbons.
An SRI fund will therefore not be able to hold Total BP or Shell shares.
