"We have deliberately envisaged a very broad and articulated composition of the control room, which not only includes central administrations, ministries and the Conference of Regions and Provinces

, but also the various state agencies and companies, representatives of publicly held companies, universities, research, the Third sector, which deal with cooperation and development. It is a composition that arises from a clearly political choice, to involve the entire Italian system in the great challenge of the Mattei Plan, to network the best experiences that already exist, the most effective projects and the adequate resources we have at our disposal".

Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni said this while speaking in the control room on the Mattei Plan.

"The Italy-Africa summit at the end of January" was, without fear of denial, a great Italian success, an initiative that has no precedent in the centrality of Italian relations with the African continent.

I am not saying this so that we can praise ourselves for our successes, but to point out to myself and each of us that participation in that conference was an enormous opening of credit towards Italy". Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni said this during the control room on the Mattei Plan. "When someone opens a loan - he continued -, you can confirm it or disappoint that expectation.

That opening of credit meant that the many African leaders who very often do not participate in these initiatives, considering them a sort of pro forma, saw some innovations in our approach."

"On Sunday I will be in Egypt with the president of the EU commission von der Leyen and some prime ministers.

There is an initiative similar to the one we carried out in Tunisia,

a memorandum of understanding also in Egypt.

In parallel there is work of bilateral cooperation which will be formalized on Sunday, which concerns the Mattei Plan, for cooperation in the agricultural and training sectors. We will also sign a series of agreements and collaborations in the sectors of health, support for small and medium-sized enterprises and investments " said the prime minister.

"Concreteness and speed" are the inputs of Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni to the participants in the first control room meeting on the Mattei Plan, which lasted approximately two and a half hours.

"We will treasure this availability and try to make the most of it", said the Prime Minister, explaining that "the first summary note on the Plan", distributed to participants, "is constantly updated and open to your contributions".

"Since we have to be concrete and fast - continued the Prime Minister during the meeting at Palazzo Chigi - I ask you to get them to the mission structure, and therefore to the diplomatic advisor Saggio, by the end of this month. This will allow us to arrive at a consolidated draft of the text that we will be able to approve in the second session of the control room, which I would like to convene in the month of April, to continue moving forward with our work".

The governor of the Bank of Italy Panetta: 'The Mattei plan has strategic value'

The Mattei Plan recently defined by the Italian Government can offer development and new opportunities for productive diversification and increased income on the African continent.

Conditions that can be reflected in greater export possibilities for Italy and European countries.

The governor of the Bank of Italy, Fabio Panetta, said this in the speech delivered on the occasion of the Maeci-Bank of Italy conference with delegates and financial workers accredited abroad, this year dedicated to economic fragmentation and geopolitical risks .

In addition to material infrastructures - it was underlined - "Africa needs secure payment infrastructures for businesses and families also with regard to cross-border payments and immigrant remittances".

And regarding the "migratory pressure" that comes from that continent, Panetta highlighted how "the partnership with Africa has a strategic value because the development of areas rich in natural resources and a young population" offers opportunities for everyone and regulates the arrival of flows which, on the one hand, cover job shortages in aging countries, in the event of "uncontrolled arrivals they could create complex integration problems"

ance, 12 billion orders underway in Africa

Around 12 billion orders are underway by our ANC companies

(5 in North Africa and 7 in Sub-Saharan Africa), which represent approximately 12% of total orders abroad.

The vice president of ANCE Federico Ghella said this during the control room on the Mattei Plan at Palazzo Chigi.

Ghella added, among other things, that "the decision of the control room to finance feasibility studies for infrastructure works offered by the Italian system to partner countries, particularly African ones, is positive. A proposal that the construction system has been putting forward for years" .

"We are working on the creation of an equity investment fund, called primAfrica, to finance green infrastructure on the African continent."

Ance, together with Confindustria and Oice, promoted "this innovative instrument, about to start with Italian, European and African public and private financing. The Fund - he added - will be very useful to reduce the risk of building infrastructures in Africa from Italian-African joint ventures".
