The CMA CGM group announces an agreement to buy Altice Media, owner of BFMTV and RMC

The deal is valued at 1.55 billion euros (about $2.7 billion) The deal was announced by the CMA, the owner of RMC, on Friday. It is not clear if the deal will be approved by the European Commission, which has the power to block the deal if it is not approved by a majority of the European Parliament or the European Court of Justice.

The CMA CGM group, owner in particular of La Tribune and La Provence, announced this Friday an agreement to buy Altice Media, valued at 1.55 billion euros.

Altice Media owns BFMTV and RMC.

“The transaction, which will be subject to customary conditions precedent and the obtaining of applicable regulatory authorizations, is expected to be finalized during the summer of 2024.”

The Media branch of Altice France (BFM, RMC, etc.) could be sold to the CMA CFM and Merit France group for 1.55 billion euros
