The withdrawal of works by Louis Ribes continues.
Its stained glass windows have started to be taken down from the Church of Charly, in Lyon, reports BFMTV.
The artist-priest who died in 1994 was convicted in 2022 of rape and sexual assault on 49 minors.
According to the Sauvé report, the “Picasso of the church” is suspected of having raped 300 people in the Rhône region, even within his workshop under the pretext of creating a drawing, a painting or a stained glass window.
When he died, Louis Ribes left some of his works to the churches of the department.
This is the case of the eleven stained glass windows held by the parish of the commune of Charly, on the outskirts of Lyon.
One of these stained glass windows, representing children, was removed this week at the request of the municipality.

In October 2023, a similar procedure was carried out within the church of Sainte-Catherine (Rhône).
As in Sainte-Catherine, the stained glass windows of the Charly church will be replaced by non-figurative and colorful drawings.
The work should not interfere with religious ceremonies.
