But on the occasion of the international awareness day for “stiff person syndrome” (SPS), Céline Dion wanted to pay tribute to the people who suffer from this pathology, from which she also suffers.

“I would like to convey my encouragement and support to all those around the world who have been affected by SPS,” wrote the 55-year-old Quebec singer in a message published this Saturday on her Instagram account.

“I want you to know that you can overcome this ordeal, WE can overcome this ordeal,” she emphasizes.

The message is accompanied by a photo of the international star surrounded by her three boys, from her union with René-Charles Angélil, on a karting podium.

“I am deeply grateful for the love and support of my children, my family, my team and all of you!

The Quebec superstar was diagnosed with SPS in the fall of 2022.

“Stiff man syndrome”, also called Moersch-Woltman syndrome, is a rare neurological condition that causes muscle spasms, affecting one's ability to walk and sing.

Only one in a million people have it.

“Determined to one day return to the stage”

“Trying to overcome this autoimmune disease has been one of the most difficult experiences of my life,” confides Céline Dion on Instagram, while ensuring that she “remains determined to one day return to the stage and lead a life as normal as possible.

Because of this illness, the international star had to cancel his tours planned for 2023 and early 2024 and his public appearances became quite rare.

Last February, Celine Dion made a surprise appearance at the Grammy Awards ceremony to present the award for best album of the year to Taylor Swift.

It was his first public appearance in four years.

“When I say I’m happy to be here, I really mean it from my heart.

Thank you all, I love you,” she said to the audience of stunned stars.
