Six people died in a failed rescue inside a sewer well in the town of Blaquier, in the northwest of Buenos Aires, when a gas operator fainted from inhaling a toxic gas and five other neighbors went down without protection to try to rescue him.
Ricardo Bottega, 60, the town's firefighter,
had been hired for a job at a place known as "El cigarro."
They believe he may have inhaled botanical gas.

Since the worker did not come out,

The other victims are Carlos Reinger, a 39-year-old volunteer firefighter;
Alejandro Centeno, 36 years old;
Mateo Pellegrino, 27-year-old volunteer firefighter;
Juan Ramón Sanchez, 50;
and Nicolás Sánchez, a 28-year-old volunteer firefighter and son of Juan Ramón, according to local media.
