Hopes for a possible truce in Gaza and a new exchange of Palestinian hostages and detainees restart on Sunday in Doha.

In the capital of Qatar we will see the mediators - the hosts, Egypt and the USA - and the Israeli and Hamas delegations at separate tables for the resumption of talks.

The framework of the situation in which we will deal, however, is marked by what happens on the field.

From the fighting front, some Palestinian residents reported that an Israeli raid in Nuseirat, in the center of the Strip, hit the building where they were staying during the first evening of Ramadan, killing 36 members of the same family, including children.

As for the humanitarian situation, the first aid brought by the Spanish ship Open Arms has landed in the enclave.

The cornerstone of the negotiations for a new ceasefire, on the outcome of which caution is a must, is the new proposal put forward by Hamas which Israel has already defined as "unrealistic" but for which Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has nevertheless planned to send a delegation led by Mossad chief David Barnea.

Doha is the first restart of negotiations which stalled on the eve of the start of the month of Ramadan.

The mediators' objective is to reach a long truce, lasting several weeks, possibly six.

Hamas, according to rumors filtered through the media, has proposed a three-phase agreement: in the first, women, children, elderly and sick people held hostage would be released in exchange for 700-1000 Palestinian prisoners, of which 100 are serving life sentences in prisons. for the release of captive Israeli female soldiers.

Hamas is also calling for a permanent ceasefire at the end of the first exchange phase.

The Doha negotiations - before the departure of the Israeli delegation, its mandate will be discussed by the country's political and military leaders - will have to find a point between the evident distances between the parties on important issues.

Central points are not only the permanent ceasefire and the withdrawal of the army, but also the number of Palestinian prisoners to be released, humanitarian aid and the return of Palestinian refugees from the south to the north of the Strip, as requested by Hamas.

On the 162nd day of the war, some survivors spoke to AFP about the Israeli raid that killed 36 people from the same family in Nuseirat, according to whom "even children" were among the dead.

The Hamas-controlled Ministry of Health also provided the same assessment, while the Israeli army - again according to the French agency - announced that it is investigating the incident.

The good news comes instead on the delivery of aid to the population.

The Open Arms ship that left Cyprus unloaded the 200,000 tons collected by the American NGO World Central Kitchen in Gaza.

"Mission accomplished, we did it," Oscar Camps, founder and manager of Open Arms, exulted on X.

"A month ago the chances of opening this humanitarian corridor to Gaza were almost zero but, as always since the beginning of Open Arms, we had the opportunity to work with determination and creativity with World Central Kitchen to make it happen, aware that they were at stake millions of lives. What seemed impossible a few weeks ago became reality yesterday," Camps added.

"This load - it was explained - includes crates of canned products, including beans, carrots, tuna, chickpeas, corn, rice, flour, oil and salt. A second load will also include cranes to assist distribution."

Meanwhile, while the IDF continues to operate in the center and south of the Strip, the Houthis have confirmed that they have met with representatives of Hamas and other armed factions of the Strip in Beirut.

The aim, they threatened, is to "expand the conflict and encircle" Israel, coordinating "resistance actions" for the "next phase" of the war in Gaza.

Also in view of Israel's possible military operation in Rafah.
