For the first time since its creation, Mattel's famous Barbie doll gave rise to a feature film that exploded the global box office: "Barbie", by Greta Gerwig, became the first film directed by a woman who exceeded $1 billion in revenue.
In France, it reached 5 million spectators.
The story begins in the imaginary world of Barbie Land, where the Barbies and the Kens are smiling, asexual and spend their day shining the chrome of Corvettes and sparkling refrigerators...
In this colorful setting, existential worries have no place because the dolls' lives are eternal.
But then an ordinary Barbie (Margot Robbie) begins to ruminate on thoughts related to death, a concept that does not exist here.
To get rid of it, she goes to the real world, to Los Angeles.
Ken (fabulous Ryan Gosling), in love with the beauty, follows her.
They will discover that, in today's America, ideas such as feminism, the fight against patriarchy, and gender equality coexist.
