200 g beetroot
150 g dark chocolate
150g butter
150g sugar
3 eggs
1 packet of vanilla sugar
1 pinch of salt
150g flour
50 g baking cocoa
1 teaspoon Baking powder
Optional: powdered sugar or cocoa powder for dusting
Preparing the chocolate cake with beetroot is a success thanks to these step-by-step instructions:
Preheat the oven to 180 °C top/bottom heat.
Grease a springform pan (20 cm diameter) and dust it with flour.
Boil the beets, let them cool, peel and puree them.
Crush the chocolate and melt it with the butter in a water bath.
Mix sugar, eggs, vanilla sugar and salt in a bowl until creamy.
Add the liquid chocolate butter.
Mix the flour, baking cocoa and baking powder and gradually stir into the chocolate mixture until a homogeneous dough is formed.
Fold the pureed beetroot into the batter until evenly distributed.
Pour the dough into the prepared baking pan and smooth it out.
Bake the cake for about 40-45 minutes.
Remove from the oven and allow to cool completely in the tin.
Before serving, dust with powdered sugar or cocoa powder if desired.
