Two people died and another was seriously injured
in a violent collision between two vehicles on Route 11, near Las Garzas, north of
Santa Fe
.
The fatal victims were the drivers of both vehicles, which
caught fire
after the impact.
The road incident occurred on Friday in front of the Equestrian Club, at approximately 3:30 p.m., at kilometer 832 of that city, located in the General Obligado Department.
There, for reasons that could not be established,
a blue Nissan Versa car and a white VW Voyage
collided head-on .
In the first vehicle were
Irene del Valle Cabrera
, 56, along with her daughter
Briana Venturini
, 20, bound for Corrientes from the city of Avellaneda.
Cabrera, who was behind the wheel, died instantly
, while
Venturini was rushed
to the Reconquista hospital due to the severity of her injuries, after being rescued by motorists who were passing by the place before the arrival of the Volunteer Firefighters. Avellaneda, who had to put out the fire that started in the vehicles.
The victim was a recently retired physical education teacher, while her daughter studies in Corrientes.
The crash occurred on a straight line, on the side of Route 11 heading north of Santa Fe, on an afternoon with good weather conditions.
In the other vehicle was
Francisco Denis Chapero
, a 74-year-old municipal retiree who lived in Reconquista, who also died at the scene.
