A traffic sign with the word “blinker???” is currently going viral.
Social media users have their own ideas about whether the sign is official.
Kassel – There are a lot of strange traffic signs hanging on the streets in Germany that leave drivers puzzled.
Photos of these signs often end up online and cause amusement or confusion.
Whether it's the meaning behind a car cut in half or a traffic sign that reminds you of a street prostitute - users on social media often have their own opinions about the bizarre finds.
This also applies to a traffic sign that says “Turn signals???”.
But does the sign actually have any validity?
The user writes about his post: “I mean, I've encountered exclamation marks in bureaucracy, but three question marks on a traffic sign are new to me.
Is this official and what does it mean?”
Traffic sign amuses and confuses on social media: “The three question marks and the additional sign”
Users are having fun in the comments under the post.
“The three question marks and the additional sign,” jokes one person and then continues, “which of course cannot be ordered in this form and is therefore inadmissible.
Private property?” Some of the social media users even know the sign and know where it is.
The question has been asked several times whether the sign is hanging in Bretten - a small town near Karlsruhe - which the creator of the post confirms.
Most people in the comments know that the sign is not an official traffic sign.
But one can speculate as to why.
One user notes: "The sign is of course not official because the StVO does not say 'turn signal', but rather 'direction indicator'." In addition, the sign would "never be issued so officially by the traffic authorities," it says there, among other things to read.
Despite the Reddit discussion, who put the sign up there and why remains unclear.
Many users on social media even find turn signal traffic signs useful
In the comments under the post, other users say that such a sign would still make sense.
One person said: “I have been living in Germany for six years and have found that very few people use the turn signal, which is very annoying!”

Who knows, maybe a turn signal sign will also be introduced.
After all, there are regular innovations in everything to do with cars, such as a recent license plate rule for drivers.
