Sad news for rock fans.
After Frank Darcel, whose death we learned on Saturday, it is the turn of the fans of Steve Harley, singer of the British glam rock group Cockney Rebel, author of the hit “Make Me Smile (Come Up and See Me)”, to disappear at the age of 73, his family announced this Sunday.
This title written by the London musician has sold more than 1.5 million copies worldwide, dominating the British charts in 1975, and has been covered more than 120 times by groups like Duran Duran or Erasure.
His daughter announced that Steve Harley had “passed away peacefully at home.”
“We know he will be sorely missed by many people around the world,” she added.
According to the BBC, Steve Harley was still on tour until recently, but he had to cancel several dates recently to undergo treatment for cancer.
Four singles and two albums by glam rock group Cockney Rebel have reached the top 10 in the UK.
