On Friday, meanwhile, it continued to rise: 2.56 meters.

Neighbors shared postcards of the flooded blocks on social media.

Until Friday night, the blocks along the waterfront were affected.

But hours later, when the sun rose, the affected area covered more blocks.

Network users showed the fierce attack of the water against the structure of the waterfront and elements of spas dragged by the current, in addition to the flooded streets.

And they even showed how the

This Saturday afternoon, meanwhile, the Crisis Committee met in the Deliberative Council.

"We are facing a

very complex

situation due to the flooding and overflowing of the river. I want to thank the intermediate institutions, security forces, clubs, NGOs, companies and neighbors who are wearing the city shirt," said the local mayor, Mauricio Davico.

And he added: "I know you have your shirt on but now I want to ask you for a little more commitment than you already have. The only thing our neighbors ask of us is that we help them get through this bad time and assist them with their needs."

In addition to the

120 self-evacuated families

, who left their belongings in warehouses in the port before looking for a safe place, some

71 people have already been transported by the authorities

to the Armored Cavalry Exploration Squadron No. 2.

The Crisis Committee includes municipal officials, authorities from the Centenario Hospital, representatives of the Security Forces, members of the National University of Entre Ríos and representatives of the Association for the Preservation and Sustainable Development of the Gualeguaychú River Basin.

This situation was followed by hours of intense rain, with short-term warnings for storms.

In this context, large areas of the Uruguay River and its tributaries - such as the Gualegaychú - showed significant flooding.
