The marathon route

ROADS CLOSED AND BUSES DIVERTED:

THE START AT FORI IMPERIALI, THE ROUTE

: The runners set off at 8.30 am from via dei Fori Imperiali, this year closer to the Colosseum.

The direction of travel also changes: no longer towards Piazza Venezia, closed off by construction sites, but towards the Colosseum.

After passing in front of the Flavian Amphitheater and the Arch of Constantine we go towards the Basilica of San Paolo.

In via Valco di San Paolo, between via Ostiense and via Marconi, on the way to the Piramide Cestia, you will reach the southernmost point of the race.

Then the turn towards Testaccio, Lungotevere Aventino, Lungotevere de' Cenci and Lungotevere dei Tebaldi up to via della Conciliazione.

The route will then take the direction of Castel Sant'Angelo and down towards the Foro Italico.

On the Duca D'Aosta Bridge the turning point and the return towards the centre.

The marathon runners will go towards Piazza del Popolo and the Twin Churches and then travel the 7 km of wonders: via del Corso and via del Babuino.

After having skirted the Circus Maximus there will be the last km with the Arch of Constantine and the Colosseum again in front, the final meters with the finish line again at the Imperial Forums.
