The Russian ambassador to Rome, Alexei Paramonov, today praised the Italian authorities who, he said, "unlike numerous other leaders of Western countries, from the beginning did not interfere with the organization of polling stations and the conduct of the Russian presidential elections in Italy".
"A constructive interaction was organized with the authorities and law enforcement agencies in order to prevent possible incidents or provocations and also to create a favorable and safe environment for voting," said the diplomat, quoted by Tass, while voting at the headquarters of the embassy.
