The city of
Salta
is shocked by a tragic accident that took place during the early hours of this Sunday.
A drunk driver lost control of the vehicle and
hit 10 people
, three of whom
died and two others are hospitalized in serious condition
.
There are two people detained.
According to local media,
two of the three victims died instantly
.
And the third died in the guard room of the San Bernardo hospital where she had been admitted in very serious condition.
Police sources confirmed that they are two men and a woman.
Meanwhile, according to the newspaper El Tribuno, seven other young people were seriously injured,
two of whom are in "serious" condition
in the intensive care unit.
As could be reconstructed, the incident took place on Paraguay Avenue, meters from the so-called Coca Cola Bridge.

place during early morning weekends.
There, around 5:20, and for reasons that are being investigated, a driver lost control of the Renault Fluence - it was raining heavily at that time - and hit 10 people who were walking on the avenue.
After hitting the young people,
he tried to change lanes and hit a palm tree

The two people who were in the vehicle were arrested.
It was learned that the 21-year-old driver had been driving while intoxicated:
the test showed 1.02 grams of alcohol in his blood
