“Today I came to defend my businesses and my employees.”
Accused by several women of sexual violence, Sébastien Cauet fought his first battle in court this Monday, on the financial side.
Accompanied by his wife, Nathalie Dartois, who came to support him, the host faced his employer, NRJ, before the Paris commercial court.
In his sights, his withdrawal from the antenna decided in November 2023 after the revelation of a first complaint for rape targeting him – four others for sexual assault have since been filed.
At the bar, his lawyer, Maître Frédéric Lamoureux, denounced a “unilateral” decision by NRJ devoid of “legal basis”.
He recalled that this sine die suspension of the daily “C' Cauet”, broadcast from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., had led to the end of the broadcaster's payments to Be Aware Radio, his client's production company.
Or 147,500 euros excluding taxes per month, with Cauet's contract for the 2023-2024 season amounting to nearly 1.5 million euros.
