"We know very well that the expropriation plan is currently the most important and delicate issue to which we must devote the utmost attention".
This was stated by the CEO of the Stretto di Messina company Pietro Ciucci at the municipality of Messina speaking with journalists waiting for him to resume his hearing.
"The general contractor - explains Ciucci - has already updated the expropriation plan, it is part of the documentation that has already been sent to the Municipality of Messina and all the other bodies, as soon as the services conference is convened we will publish a notice with all the data regarding the expropriations.
Immediately afterwards we will open a desk in Messina and in Villa SanGiovanni, the two mayors have offered us spaces in the two Municipalities, where we will meet the people who want to come and talk to us and verify that all the data is correct.
We will take note of any observations, recommendations and requests to define what the updated expropriation plan is. The actual expropriation phase will take place only after the approval of CIPES and when public utility is declared. The houses will therefore not be the first objectives of this very delicate phase, we will try to give everyone the necessary time and find an agreement with everyone that concerns both values and times.
We want to do this work together with the territory, knowing full well that it will cause annoyances and problems to a certain number of people, we try to do everything we can to mitigate them, keeping in mind the great benefit that this work brings for the whole territory and for all the other citizens".
