The EPP calls on the Foreign Ministers meeting today in Brussels to officially declare that Vladimir Putin is not the legitimate president of Russia and that the so-called presidential elections lack legitimacy.
The EPP group asks the Eurocamera in a note addressed to the foreign ministers who arrived in Brussels for the foreign affairs council.
"Vladimir Putin cannot be considered the leader of his country. Putin is not a president and this vote was not an election", says Lithuanian MEP Rasa Juknevičienė, vice-president of the group and responsible for foreign affairs of the EPP.
